PHI International secures Aviation Services contract with Woodside
PHI International (PHI) has secured a significant aviation services contract with Woodside, as operator for and on behalf of the Scarborough Joint Venture, in Western Australia. The contract will see PHI transporting personnel from Learmonth Airport to offshore sites in the Carnarvon Basin off the Northwest coast of Australia.
Woodside, Australia’s leading natural gas producer, has selected PHI to fulfil the 2–3-year contract in support of the Scarborough Project, located approximately 375 kilometres west-north-west of the Burrup Peninsula. The development includes the installation of a floating production unit, as well as an approximately 430-kilometre pipeline to transport gas from the Scarborough field to a second LNG train at the existing Pluto LNG onshore facility.
The contract award follows a competitive tender process where PHI was successful in demonstrating their operating capabilities to secure the new contract award.
The contract will be delivered from an operating base in Exmouth, utilising a fleet of 3 offshore transport configured Sikorsky S-92 Helicopters to provide daily passenger transport and 24/7 aviation support services.
PHI International Chief Operating Officer Mike Price said the organisation is delighted to have secured this important contract and to once-again partner with Woodside in Western Australia. “We are delighted to have been selected by Woodside, an industry leader, to deliver aviation services for their exciting Scarborough Project” Price said.
He said being chosen to undertake the new contract was recognition of PHI’s experience delivering similar services, as the largest operator of Sikorsky S-92’s in the region.
“The new contract award is acknowledgement of the high-quality passenger transportation services we provide around the clock globally utilising the S-92 aircraft.”
The contract will commence in 2023.
